Wireless Equipment Installer  

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Equipment Technician to join our dynamic team. As an IT Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for installing wireless equipment at multiple locations worldwide, following the design and configurations provided by the Wireless Engineer. This position involves frequent travel to various international destinations. Installations will last 6-8 weeks in the regions of southern Africa, Europe, and Asia. Paid time off will be offered between installations.

Tasks: 

• Install wireless equipment at designated locations according to provided design and configurations. 

• Ensure the operational functionality of the installed systems, performing troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that may arise. 

• Conduct spectrum attenuation surveys to assess and optimize wireless network performance. 

• Generate As-Built documentation detailing the installed equipment and configurations. 

• Collaborate with the Wireless Engineer and other team members to ensure project goals and timelines are met. 

• Provide technical support and guidance to on-site personnel as needed. 

• Adhere to all relevant safety protocols and regulations during installations and maintenance activities. 

Required Experience:  

• 3-5 years installing network and wireless equipment 

• Understanding WLAN protocol 

• Surveying and analyzing survey results to create a Signal Attenuation Surveys 

• Experience using Cisco ISE, Cisco Wireless LAN Controller 

• Configuration of switches and access points 

• Troubleshooting Wireless Local Area Networks  

• Troubleshooting across all three bands, 6 GHz included 

• Capturing and analyzing WLAN protocol 

Desired Qualifications:  

• Excellent customer service skills 

• Strong coordination, organization, teaming, and communication abilities  

• Experience with Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controller and access points 

Technical Certifications Required: 

• Certified Wireless Technician 

Desired Training (Can be provided to well qualified candidates): 

• ECSE Design Training Course and Wi-Fi Certification  

• ECSE Troubleshooting Training Course
